Boys win Big at Secondary Netball

Wednesday 25 May, 2022

It was fast and fun down at Equex today at the NSW Netball Schools Secondary Competition. With four teams from Years 7 - 10 representing the College, all students enjoyed some wins and some losses but consistently represented the College splendidly against some tough competition.

A massive congratulations to the Year 7/8 Boys team who have made it through to the Riverina Regional Finals scheduled to be held at the end of June, beating Coolamon High in the deciding game after losing to them earlier in the day. With backgrounds in the fast moving sport of basketball the boys were on average scoring more than a goal minute! Final score was 15-8. Outstanding play from Joe Jarratt in Centre was one of the highlights for Mr Cunningham.

The boys playing in the Year 9/10 competition had some very exciting and super close games, which was especially impressive given the fact that the team was solely Year 9 boys (Year 10 were away at Work Experience). Special mention to Zeb for his brilliant defense and Bailey for great shooting.

Across the school netball season there is a group of senior students who support school carnivals through umpiring and scoring. These students are a credit to the College in both their attitude and aptitude! Thank you to:

Milly Bennett

Liana Pitt

Senna-Rosa Ladule

Hannah Taylor

Hannah Mills

Brenna Guilfoyle

Claire Colvin

Ella Alcorn

Sophie Buchtmann

Maggie Turner

Thank you also to Mrs Carly Johnson and Mr Blake Cunningham, and parents who supported the students at this secondary carnival.
