Week 10 term 3 2022
The class of 2022 have always been an athletic year. At the end of last term, four Year 12 students represented CSSA at the CIS Secondary State Athletics Carnival in Sydney. Part of a team of 8 students from WWCC who were chosen in the CSSA, it is an outstanding representation for Wagga. For these Year 12 students, Hannah Mills, Thomas Yongai, Ajani Da Cruz and Shaun Bryder, it was the final interschools event they attended. It tops off years of representing the College at Zone, CSSA State, CIS and even NSW Allschool levels. Special mention to Hannah Mills who has been College Age Champion almost every year since competition began at 8 years of age, who set a new CSSA State High Jump record this year with a jump of 1.51m and who won Bronze at CIS State in the High Jump. Also to Thomas Yongai, who as a young athlete was dominant in Shot Put and Discus both at School and at Little Athletics meets. As a Year 7 student winning a trifecta of medals at the NSW Allschools to CIS winning first in Shot Put. Congratulations to Shaun for placing third in the 100m and fourth in 200m and for Ajani jumping a Personal Best of 1.75m in the High Jump. There are so many stories of growth, talent, determination and perseverance. Congratulations Class of 2022 on a magnificent effort on the sporting field.
Thomas placed second in discus! Well Done! Congratulations also to Logan Burkinshaw, Year 11, for securing second place in the 1500m. What a successful day!
