Esther's Feast

Term 3 2023

Esther has been the focus in KP's devotions over the last couple of weeks. We have learnt what it means to be brave, to stand up for what is right and to have courage, not in our own strength but in God's strength. We've also learnt the importance of being kind and putting others before ourselves. Last Tuesday we celebrated the story of Esther with a Purim feast. This feast celebrates when the Jewish people were saved by the courageous actions of Esther. We made Hamantaschen cookies that represent Haman's hat and made shakers called "groggers" that we shook whenever we heard Haman's name as the story was read. We made crowns too. We all helped set up the feast and had a wonderful time.
