Grateful and Generous Hearts

Term 4, 2022

The 'Grateful and Generous' Senior Worship Team put their thoughts and words into action today.

As James says in James 1:22 "Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!" (The Message).

Today Mrs Carly Johnson's Worship Team spent their recess and lunchtimes selling homemade lemonade, orange cordial and Smartie Cookies to raise money for the SMART Animal Sanctuary & Rehoming Centre, a not for profit charity based at Batlow which aims to rehouse dogs and cats. After the spike in the numbers of new puppies and kittens during the COVID lockdowns there is now an increased need to find new homes for unwanted pets. These Year 9, 10 and 11 students had a heart to help.

Ava and Isabelle donated farm fresh oranges and lemons. Grandparents Michael and Christine Nicholson juiced the citrus ready to be made into lemonade and cordial. Lucy, Emalee, Elijah, Goodluck, Christee and Scarlett spent the weekend making 262 Smartie Cookies, Woolworths donated $50 towards the ingredients and Generocity Church donated the super stall! What a wonderful team effort!

Thank you to all the students and families who supported this event and Mrs Carly Johnson for her encouragement and support of this active student group. We are so thankful to God for the sunshine and warmth that encouraged sales of these tasty morsels and thirst quenching drinks.
