Term 1 2023
As part of their studies in Community and Family Studies, a group of Year 11 students recently visited the Kurrajong Recycling Centre to learn more about resource management and sustainability. Elizabeth Madden, the education officer at the Recycling Centre, reinforced many of the concepts the students had explored in class including that the earth (including people) is our greatest resource, and it is our job to care for it and make careful decisions about utilising, conserving and re-using. The tour of the facility gave them an opportunity to see firsthand, not only the process, but also the working site where disability workers are given an opportunity to work in a fully supported environment.
