a surprise for crunch and sip time

Wednesday 16 June 2021 Celebrating the conclusion of their food and nutrition unit, the Senior Child Studies class made fruit skewers to share with their Preschool buddies. The Preschooler's Crunch and Sip time transformed into a fruit party with some students bravely trying fruit they hadn't really liked previously. Brayden was keen on eating 500 fruit skewers, while Theo, who never liked eating kiwi fruit previously is looking forward to Mum to buying a 'giant bag' of kiwi fruit for him to snack on. Roman liked all the fruit but the record for the most number of fruit skewers eaten was Lacey who ate four so she could enjoy the pineapple pieces, her favourite fruit. The teachers were great encouragers as they kept making the fruit on their skewers 'disappear'! The Year 9 & 10 students have the opportunity to regularly connect with the Preschool and as Scarlett from Year 9 mentioned, "We have been able to build relationships with the children. They know us now, so when we are passing they are keen to say hi." The relationships formed over two terms are valued not only by the Preschool children but also the Senior students. Year 10 student Tanita really enjoys the class's trips to the Preschool precinct, "It is just fun playing with the kids outside."
