Around the World with KS
Kindergarten has been travelling around the world this term exploring North America, Mexico and Greenland.
Term 4, 2021 Many of us might be restricted in our travelling but not the students in KS! Kindergarten has been travelling around the world this term exploring North America, Mexico and Greenland. Students have had the opportunity to appreciate different cultures and traditions as they explore the history and geography of these far flung countries. Did you know that Mexico's Christmas traditions are steeped firmly in their understanding of our sinfulness and the gift that Jesus gave us through His death and resurrection? In Mexico at Christmas time a star pinata was traditionally whacked as children symbolically hit sin out of their lives resulting in being showered in the blessings and goodness of God which freely fall! In Germany Martin Luther replaced the concept of Santa Claus with an angel called Christkindl (or Christ Child) who came on Christmas Eve to give gifts to children. Students write a regular newspaper detailing their journeys. See some snippets below. Hang on KS, strap yourselves in! Next stop? England!
