Artist Leigh Hewitt Visits WWCC Art Students
Today Year 12 Visual Arts were delighted to have a visiting artist join their class with Mrs Martinez. Leigh Hewitt, a local artist, present

Tuesday 22 June 2021 Today Year 12 Visual Arts were delighted to have a visiting artist join their class with Mrs Martinez. Leigh Hewitt, a local artist, presented a collection of his work showcasing his talent in oil painting and digital drawing. Hewitt talked about his portraiture and love of painting everyday scenes and objects that represent and reflect his life and love of painting. Hewitt also spoke about perseverance and the importance of problem-solving when producing quality work. He had some amazing tips to share on painting technique and each student had the chance for one-on-one feedback to enhance their practise. It is vital for our students have access to various artists for inspiration and extended learning. Year 11 student, Ratidzo, stated how much she enjoyed meeting someone who is actively involved in the Wagga art scene, showing us what is possible as a working artist. Hewitt teaches art lessons and often works out of The Curious Rabbit Art Café. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions. A big thank you to Leigh Hewitt who has guided and inspired our students. Facebook: Leigh Hewitt Art | Facebook Instagram: @leighhewittart Website: https://leighhewitt.com.au/
