Book Week 2021 in Middle School
Middle School made the most of online learning and had a week of literacy activities to go along with Book Week.
Lockdown Term 3, 2021 Middle School made the most of online learning and had a week of literacy activities inspired by 2021 Book Week, 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds'. The week's activities included trivia, roll a story, choose your own adventure writing, an escape room and a colouring in competition. The escape room was a real challenge which students needed to persevere through - deciphering the codes, finding all the gems and eventually complete their great escape. Choose your own adventure writing was a real hit with many students choosing to go above and beyond, writing sequels or extensive endings. Please take the time to step into a different world as you explore these adventure books. The colouring in competition showed some wonderful artistic flair that paired perfectly with this year’s theme, ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. Please see below. From Miss Naomi Abascal, Core Teacher Year 7: Before we went into lockdown, my Year 7 Core class and I decided we would all coordinate our costumes for Book Week and follow a certain theme. We decided to all dress up as 'Dr. Seuss' characters to fit into the 'Other Worlds' category of the 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds' theme. Although we went into lockdown before we could dress up together at school, many of my Year 7's (and myself) were still pretty eager to wear our costumes!
