Coding Catches on in Junior School

Term 3, 2021 From Year 2 students have the opportunity to extend their coding skills with the Coding Club. During Home Learning students participated in the Coding Challenge where they were tasked with constructing a coding program which taught others about healthy habits, such as eating healthy foods or doing exercise. Students used 'Scratch', a coding program which uses blocks to create games. Clare spent up to three months working on her winning game, "Gobo (the main character in the game), takes the player through a day where they learn about healthy foods and exercise. It was very time consuming to make as I had to make timing corrections and there were multiple characters." If you are in Years 2 - 4 and would like to find out more about joining the Coding Club, talk with Mrs Alcorn or Mrs Greenlees. Congratulations to Clare and Charlotte for their winning games. Check our Clare's 'Gobo' Game here. Become a winner with Charlotte's winning game.
