HSC – First in State Music

HSC - First in State heads a wonderful list of results for Wagga Christian College Wagga Wagga Christian College is in celebration mode after one of its students came first in the state with a mark of 100% in the Music 1 course. College Vice-Captain for 2017, Hannah-Grace Spreitzer, a remarkable vocalist and dedicated student, was elated with results. “I feel so exceptionally blessed to be able to have this surreal experience. The HSC journey has been challenging, but incredibly rewarding. I will be forever thankful to God for His blessings and opportunities, and I am thankful to my unbelievably supportive and loving family and friends, as well as the ongoing support of the Christian College community. I would really like to thank Mr Geoffrey Xeros my music teacher, Meredith Adams my singing teacher, Joanne Burrows my music theory teacher and my good friend Viliame.” Hannah-Grace travelled to Sydney on Wednesday for a presentation with the other 128 students who received a first in course from NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian. She also excelled in Visual Arts earning a solid Band 6 result. Alycia Munce and Georgia Wellard joined in the festivities with Band 6 results in Music 1. All class members scored Band 5 or higher. “Students take part in our exceptional music program from around seven years old. Our partnership with the Riverina Conservatorium of Music has been profound. Many of our students, particularly music students have significantly benefitted from the sustained and deliberate approach to music education in the College.” commented Music Director Mr Geoffrey Xeros. Students rounded off an exceptional year with great HSC results in a variety of areas. Hannah Poulos reaped the rewards of her diligence with great marks, scoring 96% (Band 6) in Community and Family Studies and Band 5 in all other subjects. College Dux, Charlie Bergmeier lived up to his reputation with a Band 6 in Business Studies and Band 5 in all of his other subjects. Abenezer Tilahun impressed with a wonderful set of results and multiple offers of early entry from Universities. College Principal Mr Hugh MacCallum is understandably elated. “Our students have done remarkably well,” he said. “ The faithful excellence evident in the HSC results are a credit to our students, the staff and our families. There are fine individual results and whole class excellence particularly in Business Studies, Music, CAFS and Visual Arts. We have a significant number of Band 6 results. There are many others who achieved very commendable results and who demonstrated remarkable character and achievement. Their HSC results are worth celebrating too. We are so proud of who our graduates are – as well as the marks they achieve and the doors that they are opening.
