Students sharing Bible Stories

Term 3 2022 Creativity with words, crafting and puppetry helped 3T present stories from the Bible to their classmates, Grandparents and special friends. In small groups students collaborated and decided on a Bible story, researched the story in the Bible, developed skits and built puppets from newspaper and masking tape decorating them with wool, googly eyes and material to help bring them to life. As students took responsibility for their play they not only learnt to listen and work together, but also developed their writing, drama and presentation skills. Below you will see photos of characters from Noah's Ark (Genesis 6), the Feeding of the 5000 (Matthew 14), David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17), Creation (Genesis 1) and Jesus Calms the Storm (Matthew 8). The students were full of enthusiasm for the project: Kirk like acting, while Anastasia liked "painting and decorating my puppet. I used feathers for my dove and made an olive branch for it to carry." Making the puppets was also Marley's favourite part of the process because "I like being creative. I also liked doing the lightning because I like drawing." William liked "the God part and Kirks' acting. He had an evil laugh for Satan's character." "I liked being able to create a simple character and acting out the character, assuming the personality of that person. I was Noah and he had a kind character so I made sure my voice was kind." said Tilly. Can you pick the characters in each story?
