The World Game in wagga

Tuesday 10 August 2021 It was with a heavy heart that the College Open Boys team left the field last night. A hard fought game against Kooringal High, into the second half of extra time, 2 goals a piece and Kooringal found the back of the net. With no subs available on the night the whole team had to dig deep for 70 minutes. Samson continuing to tackle and bring the ball down to the College goal, multiple chances by Joe, Kye, Thomas and Samson in attack, with Thomas scoring a cracker free kick goal from half way, curving the ball in just under the cross bar before hitting the back of the net. Adjani and Shaun were awesome in defence running onto the ball and helping Loro in goals save numerous attempts from Kooringal. "Kooringal had enormous depth in their team." said Shaun, "They had the advantage that their whole team were experienced soccer players." Samson expressed the feelings of the whole team, "The disappointment when Kooringal finally landed that goal was immense. Just knowing how much effort we had put into the game, but we are looking forward to taking on Mater Dei in the play off for third next Wednesday at Gissing Oval." The boys were participating in the annual CWWHSSA Creed Shield Open Soccer Competition. Final Score against Kooringal in the Semi Finals: 3-2. The Boys had earnt a place in the semis after the round robin games last week: defeating TRAC 2-1 and drawing with Wagga High 1-1.
