Tuesday 10 August 2021 A visit by St Vincent de Paul and Edel Quinn Hostel to the Year 10 Christian Life Studies class today supported the work the students had been investigating about advocacy and working with groups in need, those without a loud voice in our society. Students grew their understanding of the role of these organisations in our local community and were challenged as to what they could contribute individually and as a year group, or representative of the College, in supporting these services. "It was really helpful learning that the Edel Quinn Hostel does more than just house people in need, they are a place others can visit when in need of clothing or food or even just some social connection. People can come to stay or just to make friends," said Ashley, Year 10 student. "I currently work in retail and I like helping people in need, that is something I have learnt from my mother, so I am considering how I can support an organisation like Vinnies." Keep an eye out for developments across the College as our community supports this important work.
