9/10 Tasmania excursion 2023

Week 5 Term 3, 2023

Year 9 and 10 are back in Wagga now after an amazing week travelling around Tasmania. The opportunity to experience new places, learn more of Australia's history, meet new people and get to know those around them better has meant that their time has been packed full of both activity and reflection - they may be a little tired as they hit familiar surroundings today!

Exploring the Salamanca Markets and Bonorang Wildlife Park, Cataract Gorge and Port Arthur filled the first part of the week. The traditional talent show saw some students shared their skills, from guitar and piano solos to art and auctioneering, while Year 9 entertained the group with a song about their trip so far. An amazing hike to Wine Glass Bay lookout and the beach proved challenging and rewarding. On Tuesday students enjoyed a round of mini golf at the Tamar Valley Resort with many balls ending up in the ponds… they also received a very interesting tour of the Beaconsfield mine.

The blessings of the trip are many. God's provision of blue skies on many days, the exceptional behaviour of the students (noticed by so many of the people we met) and the opportunity to spend time thinking about God's goodness have made this a very valuable time away. Thank you to all the teachers for their input into this wonderful excursion.
